The Transalpina GTX is a shoe for modern hiking activities, which combines values of traditional manufacturing skills with new technical solutions. The upper combines suede with AIR 8000® in a functional and modern design, coupled with an innovative IMS³ triple density outsole and an Exoskeleton system for an optimal cushioning of the arch.

AIR 8000® is a unique technological solution utilised by AKU for engineering a breathable upper with the correct thermal balance. Laboratory tests confirm that AIR 8000® offers up to 11 times greater breathability than a traditional fabric over a period of 24 hours.
IMS The Internal Midsole System is an exclusive technology used in the construction of the AKU insole. It couples the traditional support structure in nylon to a layer of microporous material at the interior of the upper. This system, which allows for the sole to perfectly capture the anatomy of the foot, ensures a uniform distribution of pressure, prevents from lateral and frontal slipping under heavy use, and provides shop absorption for an excellent wearing comfort.
The version ISM³ couples the System with an Exoskeleton construction and a second internal element in molded EVA. The external structure in light polyurethane offers protection and support at the key spots, ensuring additional safety at every step while the molded EVA provides cushioning and shock absorption.
The midsole of the EXO-Exoskeleton technology is composed of an outer skeleton in light polyurethane, which goes up at the rear surrounding to protect the heal and to provide support and stability while walking. The asymmetrical structure, with a wider inner part and a rise in polyurethane in the medial area, offers support and provides pronation control.
