Description of Maxxis Minion DHF Front MTB Folding Tire TR EXO Dual 27.5 inch

The enduro version of the Minion DHF was designed for the often loose and muddy conditions. It incorporates ramped knobs for low rolling resistance and channel-cut knobs to increase gripping edges, giving straight-line control and precise cornering.

Dual Compound
Two compounds used within the tread of select tires to offer lower rolling resistance and increased cornering grip.

Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tire; and less chance of flatting since there is no tube. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tires provide the benefits of a UST tubeless tire without the weight penalty. Maxxis TR tires use a standard casing and require the use of a liquid sealant in order to make them airtight. Maxxis Tubeless Ready tires are the only Maxxis tires approved for use with liquid sealants.

EXO Protection is an extremely cut and abrasion resistant material that protects the sidewall. It is very tightly woven, light and very flexible. This keeps the performance of the tire unchanged good.

Customer Reviews
Great
Great front tyre for agressive riding. It offers loads of grip on hardpack, loose gravel/dirt and mud. Speaking of mud, it sheds mud fairly well, but don't expect too much because of closely positioned knobs.

Compared to Bontrager XR3 team issue (my previous front tyre), Minion is some 200 grams heavier due to EXO protection layer. I Bonty's XR3 is pretty fast roling tyre so I was pleasently surprised to find out there's almost no difference in rolling resistance after switching to heavier and more aggressive Minion.

I also used to have High Roller (1, super tacky) on my front wheel. I must say Minion rolls much, much faster with very little difference in grip level (High roller still offers the highest amount of grip).
