Named after a famous redwood covered road in Santa Cruz, California, the TURN Zayante 30 mm hollow forged crank represents a huge amount of technology in a “Comp” level package. The Zayante combines the benefits of a wide bearing stance with a 30 mm aluminum spindle.
Add in beautifully sculpted, hollow forged crank arms and you have a massive amount of stiffness and power transfer. Praxis Works cold forged chainrings round out the Zayante package for what is a very versatile road crank with superior shifting.
- Hollow Crankarms - With TURNs deep history of complex metal manufacturing, it was natural for them to continue working with and create an new cranks from aluminum. The crank arms are made with a unique hollow forging process that aligns the grain of the metal through the use of massive pressure. The end result is a light weight, tougher, and more durable crank than others in the market.
Attention to detail and proprietary in-house forging allows them to control the process from start to finish, and maximize performance from each AL part.
- Cold Forging Chainrings - All of praxis works chainrings are created with their proprietary forging process which allows them to manipulate the ring shape and tooth profile more than ever before. With “One-Shot” forging the company is able to increase the amount of shifting features on a chainring which normal CNC manufacturing won’t allow.
The process also creates a harder and tougher tooth surface for durability with over 1000 tons. Individual tooth profiles, alternating tooth angles, timed ramps and tactically placed shift elevators are all jam packed onto a Praxis ring. Translation: All of these small aggregate features add up to the most durable and consistent shifting rings ever produced for cyclists.
- Leva Time - LevaTime™ shifting is the product of years of relentless testing and tweaking. The final result is a set of some of the finest and fastest-shifting rings available. With a LevaTime™ ring, several shift elevators are placed strategically at points on the ring to provide a perfectly timed lift.
Synchronized ramps are tuned with a specific inner ring, providing a clean channel for the chain to move upwards. Each individual tooth is sculpted to handle a specific duty. Along with that, precisely located scallops help control chain movement and prevent chain suck.
