The 63 mm deep rim made of an aluminum-carbon bonding system comes comes with CITEC's patented Concave-System which allows a decrease of weight while increasing the resilience of the rim. This guarantees long term strength while saving weight at the rim, reducing the rotating mass. The machined aluminum braking surface delivers a reassuring braking performance at any speed. Available with 12 or 16 bladed spokes with reduced air turbulences and less drag. The near absence of air turbulence around the spokes results an unsurpassed aerodynamic performance.
The CITEC Concave System
is an innovative, patented rim construction method. It allows a decrease of weight while at the same time increasing the resilience of the rim. This new development, comparable to the arch of a bridge, allows us to reduce the spoke number in the wheel without compromising the integrity of the rim base. The forces acting on the rim are directed away. This guarantees long term strength and maximum resilience while saving weight at the rim, reducing rotating mass. All play between hub and spoke is eliminated through the use of straight spokes threaded directly into a special sleeve in the hub. Even under permanent load CITEC wheels will resist spoke breakage, while constant re-tensioning and re-truing become unnecessary. Furthermore it increases the true running stability.
