As a subsidiary of a bearing manufacturer ACROS has developed a new bearing for the new Nineteen hub series. This stainless steel angular contact bearings are radically attuned for low weight and simultaneously a high bearing load. Furthermore all NINETEEN hubs feature a 19 mm King-Size aluminium axle. Hence they are light and also super stiff.
The freehub system features the new ratchet technology with two hard-anodized 38-toothed spur gears. They are driven by three spiral springs which create the typical Acros-freehub sound.
The hub shell consists of 7075 aluminium and is equipped with a 6-bolt brake disc mount. The ED version features standard flanges.
With revolutionary advancements of bicycle components, like 1x11-speed drivetrains, mountain bike designers have been given almost limitless freedom to focus solely on the performance of the bike. Each advancement demands that the entire package works flawlessly. Aggressive trail and enduro riders have been increasingly enjoying the benefits of larger wheels, but many still view 27.5" and 29" wheels as a possible weak link. Which is why the open Boost standard has been developed. It provides improvements on wheel stiffness and strength.
Two double sealed (R2 rubber lip seal, R3 specially shaped sealing lip with steel-plate reinforcement), precisely manufactured and purpose-optimized angular contact stainless steel bearings form the heart of the Nineteen ED RW hub and allow the hub to spin play-free and smoothly for a long time.
Additionally "The Clamp System" allows an easy bearing play adjustment.
