The lightweight SQlab 611 Active Carbon saddle for a dynamic riding style on the All Mountain or Enduro bike is with just 220 grams (12 cm width) one of the lightest in its class. The proven SQlab step saddle shape offers more relief in the pressure sensitive areas for men and women alike. The construction of the Active saddle allows a degree of movement in the horizontal plane, mimicking the natural motion of walking. This increases comfort, relieves the spinal discs and reduces the pressure to the sitbones.
The saddle nose of the 611 Active is 2.5 cm longer when compared to conventional saddles. The longer nose allows elements of Motocross riding techniques to be used providing more control and more space to move freely for an advanced dynamic riding style. Also the rear section and the saddle wings provide more surface area for better rider contact. In Motocross you also commonly see a step in the seat, which in this case does not provide relief, but instead more rearward support when in the forward seated riding position.

Seated on the rear: Perfect for riding longer distances with perfect perineal relief (up to 75%).
Seated forward in the step: The center of gravity is somewhat lower, perfect rearward support is provided, yet the rear sitbones still rest on the raised rear section which in combination with the MaxContact® nose shape still provides great relief in the perineal area.
Seated all the way forward on the saddle nose: Ideal for steep ramps, here you can see the second advantage of the longer nose next to the increased control.
SQlab Active saddle technology
The construction of the saddle allows a degree of movement of the pelvis in the horizontal plane. The natural pelvic rocking movement evident in walking is now possible while cycling. A round pedalling motion is achieved which provides for reduced pressure to the lumbar spine and facet joints. This can contribute to less fatigue and prevention of pain in the lumbar spine.
Thanks to a large volume lattice structure, the Superlight Foam has a higher portion of closed cells than the Marathon Foam. This achieves a spring characteristics curve with high comfort levels in thin padding, otherwise only found in large volume, thickly padded saddles. Because of the higher air volume, the weight is extremely low. Even with high enduring loads, the padding material maintains its shape well. The closed cell structure also means the padding cannot be penetrated by water.
Note on compatability of carbon rails: Ensure that the seatrail clamping mechanism of your seatpost is compatible with oval shaped seatrails. In some cases, specific seatrail clamps are available seperately to allow the fitting of saddles with oval shaped rails.
