Description of praxis works Lyft M30 THRU Carbon Crankset - with Bottom Bracket - black

The Lyft M30 THRU Carbon crankset with selectable Wave™ Tech chainring and bottom bracket.

praxis works Lyft M30 THRU Carbon crankset

Praxis cranks have evolved from the focus on superb shifting cold forged chainrings, and also the highly sought-after bottom brackets. Over the years of building and developing Praxis, the cranks organically came to fruition from customers repeatedly requesting a full crankset that utilized Praxis rings and BB systems.

It all started with the hollow Zayante and Girder cranks, but now praxis works are expanding into solid forged arms with the Alba and Cadet, and also the first Carbon crank the Lyft.

Pushing the limits many times takes you to new and exciting places, and nowhere else is this more apparent than with praxis works all new Lyft Carbon MTB crank. The Lyft is the culmination of years of research and development and praxis works continued forward motion and pushing of the needle.

Direct Mount MTB chainring - DM-A

Wave™ Tech

The Wave™ pattern applies alternating lateral force to each chain link to actively retain links to ring - going beyond narrow/wide implementation that relies solely on friction. The Wave™ tooth pattern swings right to left, grasping the interior of the chain for retention, but allowing room for mud, debris, and grit to escape. The Wave™ design creates more open areas for mud and debris evacuation and preserves chain retention in adverse conditions - one of many "Achilles' Heels" of narrow/wide designs.

Designed with mindful consideration of system friction, the Wave™ design actively engages the chain but yields much less concentrated wear than competing designs - spreading the load over large surface areas instead. Tough enough for Enduro, Downhill, and also weight conscious for XC riding. These MTB Wave™ Tech rings are machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and Hard Anodized to take a beating.

Cold Forging

All of praxis works chainrings are created with their proprietary forging process which allows them to manipulate the ring shape and tooth profile more than ever before. With "One-Shot" forging the company is able to increase the amount of shifting features on a chainring which normal CNC manufacturing won't allow.

The process also creates a harder and tougher tooth surface for durability with over 1000 tons. Individual tooth profiles, alternating tooth angles, timed ramps and tactically placed shift elevators are all jam packed onto a Praxis ring. Translation: All of these small aggregate features add up to one of the most durable and consistent shifting rings ever produced for cyclists.

Compatibility

Because of the Wave™ Tech Direct Mount chainrings the Lyft is compatible with Shimano 10-/11-speed (also Di2), SRAM 10-/11-speed drivetrains, but not whit SRAM's 12-speed Eagle.

M30 Thru bottom brackets

In contrast to the conical M30 hollow axle, the M30 Thru bottom brackets have at driveside and non-driveside the same 30 mm diameter. With help of the corresponding praxis works bottom bracket the Lyft can be installed in BSA, BB90/92, BB30 and PF30 frames. Apart from the Lyft the Thru bottom brackets are compatible to:

  • Thru BSA | BSA-68/73-M30: Race Face / Easton Cinch, 30 mm Rotor Rex / 3D+
  • Thru BB30/PF30 73mm MTB | PF46/BB42-73-30: Race Face Cinch MTB, Rotor REX1 MTB
