From its dedicated, 100 millimeter travel-specific chassis, superior charger 2 damper and supple solo air spring, to its precise steering characteristics, and its every-gram-counts attitude — each element of SID’s design is focused on winning. Because whether it is a gold medal on the line or simple bragging rights, SID’s sole purpose is success.
Also the latest SID is solely focused on XC and features small changes to make one of the best forks even better. Its chassis is not only light, it also convince with repressively stiffness. The adjusting knobs offer nice design and are smoothly to control. Another innovative feature is the tool-free brake hose guide which makes the mounting much easier. The SID RLC features a modified version of the from Pike and Lyrik well-known Charger damping with Rapid Recovery rebound. It is called "Charger 2" and offers an adjustable low speed compression with independent lockout. Apart from that this 29 inch fork offers stiff 32 mm stanchions with weight-saving knocked-out magnesium dropouts and in the World Cup version also carbon steerer and crown for a weight of only 1523 g. In addition the Torque Caps provide an incredibly accurate steering.

Technologies of the RockShox SID World Cup Charger 2 RLC Solo Air 29" fork:

Dig Valve

Dig Valve sounds the system which works in the oil circuit of the SID. It provides the optimal level of control for both low and high speed compression, carefully controlling the oil flow to provide the rider with the right amount of support and impact absorption. The piston redesign allows the use of Rapid Recovery, a rebound tune that allows the shock to recover faster between consecutive bumps, for greater traction and a more controlled ride. The Dig Valve is factory tuned and supports the SID at mid strokes.

Charger Dämpfung

The improved extruded bladder design resists damping changes during extended downhills and has virtually zero pressure offset for small bump sensitivity. This means no sacrifices in bump performance for shredding downhill while keeping the ability to maintain pedaling stability for those leg burning climbs.

Rapid Recovery

In combination with the Rapid Recovery system the damping increases control while you need less energy at the same time. Rapid Recovery allows the shock to recover faster between consecutive bumps, letting the wheel track the ground with greater precision. This more active suspension system enables the bike to ride in a higher and softer part of the spring rate. Rapid Recovery gives the rider access to more available wheel travel, bump after bump, to achieve a smoother and more controlled ride.

Solo Air suspension

The spring rate of the light and plush Solo Air spring can be adjusted using just one valve, effectively filling the positive and negative air chamber simultaneously. This offers a lot of tuning options. The combination of the super-light Solo Air spring with the performance focused Charger damper and the Power Bulge casting makes for one of the lightest yet exceptionally stiff XC forks on the market.

Power Bulge

Instead of increasing the stanchion size and adding extra weight, the Power Bulge simply reinforces the lower leg to allow for an oversized bushing for more stiffness and driving comfort.

Sag Gradients

Don't set your sag correctly and you might as well be hopping onto someone else's bike. For an easy and accurate suspension setup the sag gradients are printed right on the fork's upper tubes and shock damper bodies. So there is no need for another measuring tool.

Bottomless Tokens (optional)

The use of the optional available Bottomless Tokens allows riders to easily custom tune their RockShox fork's air-spring performance to best match their own riding style and suspension preference. Adding the easy-to-install Tokens changes the air-spring curve to resist bottom-out after a big hit, giving aggressive riders the power to attack the trail harder. Removing Bottomless Tokens makes the air-spring curve more linear, enhancing suspension feel for certain types of terrain or trail condition and ensuring riders who are less front-end aggressive benefit from 100 percent of their fork's travel.

Torque Caps (optional)

The optional available Torque Caps make the bond between hub and fork dropout stronger, with an increased surface area connecting the two. This creates a stronger, stiffer interface, giving you a more responsive front wheel and more control.
