Tubeless Enduro/DH Performance with feather-light carbon weight!
The Flow CB7 carbon rim combines Stan’s best-in-class Bead Socket Technology with a strong and lightweight asymmetric carbon rim.
Developed in conjunction with the carbon specialists at Ibis, the Flow CB7’s asymmetric design improves the bracing angle of the spokes to create a more stable, wider base to better support the rim. Stan’s trademark patented low sidewalls further improve strength while shaving weight to make the Flow CB7 one of the quickest accelerating trail rims available.
While asymmetric rim designs offer added wheel strength, they have traditionally been unable to match the extremely high standards of tubeless performance found on Stan’s conventional symmetrical rims. All of that changes with the Flow CB7.
Bead Socket Technology
With five patents and counting, Bead Socket Technology tubeless rims make it easier to install, inflate, and remove tires. BST also offers the most dependable airtight seal in all conditions. Stan’s trademark low sidewalls are another aspect of BST the not only improves tubeless performance, but provides increased strength while saving rotational weight for faster acceleration.
The asymmetric design of the Baron CB7 also incorporates Stan’s radial impact absorbing carbon technology, RiACT. Low sidewalls and careful attention to shape and lay-up let RiACT carbon rims deflect radially to absorb impacts and vibrations, making them more durable, more comfortable and faster rolling, while still maintaining excellent lateral stiffness.
The most important piece to the bicycle-terrain interaction is the contact patch between the tire and terrain, so tire profile and tire pressure play huge roles in bicycle performance and overall handling. But many rims just don't work well with the tires the most riders are using. Rims that are too narrow fail to offer sufficient sidewall support and protection to your tires and create a less stable shape. The result is less control in the corners, less traction on climbs, and more rolling resistance. Rims that are too wide also distort the tire profile, decreasing traction and control and driving impacts directly into the rim, negating the impact absorbing advantages of a tire's volume. Stan's WideRight rim widths are designed to strike the perfect balance between tire volume and sidewall function.
