ARABESQUE - Simply Beautiful!

This formerly beloved frameset made its debut more than thirty years ago. Even die-hard pros wanted to ride it back then, although it was of course far too classy as a pure working machine with all the chrome. Last year was now in the Italian Colnago headquarters a large box with still remaining Arabesque sleeves, from this bygone era, found. Much too bad to do nothing with it - The decision was made in favor of this beautiful reinterpretation of Italian frame building art.

The original Arabesque had round steel tubes at the time. But now it gets the same "star-shaped" DT15V tube set of the current Colnago Master frame. Another change involved the head tube, which now comes threadless. Also, unlike the original, the chrome Precisa steel fork comes with straight fork blades.

The rest remained the same: The frame has a 70 mm bottom bracket mount with Italian thread, a seat tube with 27.2 mm inner diameter, a braze-on derailleur mount, downtube shifter mounts and chrome-plated, horizontal dropouts with adjustment screws.

As for the geometry, here you get a frame that can take maximum advantage of the excellent handling characteristics of steel. The top tube is quite classically parallel to the ground. Many call this type a "square" frame, where the seat tube and top tube are nearly the same length. The seat tube angle is quite steep, so many riders will need a seatpost with setback.
