Description of Panaracer Gravelking Slick TLC Folding Tire - 40-622 / 700x38C - mustard / brown

Gravelking a tire for dirt or rough and smooth pavement!

For cyclists are looking to expand their cycling horizons. That includes roads that may not be suited for normal road tires. The Panaracer Gravel King tire solves that problem. In four widths available to suit any rider's tastes. ZSG Natural rubber compound, puncture protection breaker and a special low rolling resistance AX-A casing make the Gravel King a go-anywhere tire.
Tubeless compatible.

ZSG Natural Compound
This compound has the same low rolling resistance as the premium compound. Its enhanced wear resistance makes it perfect for a long lasting training tire with an excellent ride.

AX-A Casing Cord
AX-A technology uses extremely narrow cord which is weaved at a super high density into the casing for lightness and flexibility. This increased density improves resistance to cuts and abrasions.

Anti-Flat Casing
Anti-puncture reinforcement throughout the tire strengthens resistance to cuts and pinch flats.
Included in delivery: 1 tire
Weight supplement: manufacturer's specs

Note: Tubeless Ready tires require tubeless compatible rims/wheels, tubeless valves, tubeless rim tape and sealing fluid for tubeless mounting. Sealant fluid is not required for tubeless UST tires, but is recommended for increased puncture protection. Installation should only be carried out by qualified personnel.

Mangelhaft
Rear tire is dead after 90 km (during 2nd ride :-() It is torn near the sidewall. It happened when tarmac surface changed into gravel. Used as tubless with pressure 3,7 bar.
Otherwise pretty quick tire, could be good for tarmac paths, poor adhesion on the gravel surface. Maybe only bad luck with wrong batch ...

Poor
Very nice tire as long as it lasts.
Puncture protection on these tyres is very bad.
I have ridden aprroximately 500km in tarmac and both of my tires are useless.
Front tire is torn near the sidewall and rear tire is full of small holes that wont seal.
Unless you are riding on a very high quality tarmac, avoid these tyres!

Tricky
One tire set tubeless easily but the other one was a torture, and still is leaking air slowly. For some reason it is too rough and not getting into the rim bead tight enough. I've tried totally reassembling the tubless set 3 times, but the front tire still needs pumping every day. I'm just afraid of going too far with it. Maybe that's just a defective one.

Schlecht

Amazing all round tire
Perfect choice if you are, like me, riding about 70-80% asphalt and want to go fast, smashing KOMs, but also need a tires that can handle a large variety of gravel and unpaved roads. These may be not the fastest and the safest tires offroad, compare to knobby MTB ones, but you can not get anything in just one tire. And these a really supple for the size even with tubes. Usually I have 45-50 psi for comfort ride, 55-60 or more only when I want to ride fast on asphalt, about 40 with tubes when going mostly offroad. Slight amount of wear in the rear tire after 2000 km, almost no change in the front. On 19mm WTB SX rims these are 37.5 and 38mm wide - one a little bit wider than another.
