The profiles of the rims have been specially developed for tubeless use. They guarantee a perfect fit and make the installation of the tire as easy as possible. Nevertheless, it is always possible to use a conventional combination of tire and tube.
Carbon enables DT Swiss to produce a 30mm wide rim that provides ideal support for modern tires. It allows a lower tire pressure and thus reduces the rolling resistance on rough surfaces. The wheels benefit from the low weight of a carbon rim and, thanks to the low moment of inertia of a carbon rim, they have fast acceleration and precise handling.
Due to the higher stiffness of the carbon rim compared to an aluminum rim, ultra-light DT competition race spokes can be used, which ensures perfect wheel stiffness. The spokes have a 1.6mm thin central section. This allows for further weight savings without negatively affecting the wheel's durability.
The DT Pro Lock spoke nipples prevent the spoke-nipple connection from loosening on its own. A patented two-component adhesive is injected into the nipple thread, which enables the construction of extremely durable wheels. As soon as the nipples are screwed in, the adhesive is activated and then hardens completely. Repeated re-centering is possible without any problems, whereby the adhesive strength decreases slightly with each re-centering.
DT Swiss hubs are known for the No-Tool concept. The concept allows the tool-free conversion to all common axle and freewheel body standards. All DT Swiss Ratchet System hubs can be converted.
What makes the Ratchet System hubs superior is the fact that all teeth on each of the ratchets engage simultaneously every time. In the case of pawl hubs, the engagement surface area is rather small. With the Ratchet System, the whole front face engages, creating much smaller point loads. The result is the legendary reliability of the Ratchet System hubs.
