Details of the Specialized Roubaix Comp

The frame offers a certain flexibility without compromise. With tube shapes created in the Specialized FreeFoil library and tested in the wind tunnel, the Roubaix is as aerodynamic as the Tarmac SL6. To ensure the low weight and good handling characteristics, Specialized has taken the rider-first-engineered approach that results in a stiff yet comfortable frame. Of course, the frame has also lost significant weight during this process.

To match the frame, Specialized developed the S-Works Pavé seatpost. It's not only comfortable, but aerodynamic as well, with no extra weight or frills. Based on the D-shaped design found on the Tarmac, Specialized has taken the concept of compliance to a new level by adding extra flex to the top half of the seatpost and developing a new type of drop-clamp seatpost clamping. This way the prop gives you a lot of comfort and is in perfect balance with the front of the bike. This gives you a comfortable, well-balanced riding experience, no matter how rough the ground may be.

With 20mm of travel, the Future Shock 1.5 not only gives you a smoother and more comfortable ride, but also reduces fatigue and allows you to ride faster over rough roads. The smooth boot makes the Future Shock even more aesthetic by creating a clean transition from head tube to stem.
