When Specialized set out to design the Stumpjumper, they had a few goals. They wanted it to be the lightest bike possible, but without sacrificing durability for it. They wanted a stiff chassis that would pull around corners like it was on rails and a geometry that everyone could enjoy. All this then paired with the best suspension kinematics they could find.

Even the most suspension travel is useless without the right kinematics, which is why Specialized put them at the forefront of the Stumpjumper's design. Using lessons learned from the Enduro's suspension design and more than 1,000 hours of development on the trail and in the suspension lab, they've vastly improved performance while creating a powerful, efficient and lively bike that every biker craves. In addition, anti-squat behavior has been increased so that the chassis resists bobbing better. Cornering obstacles are also now better swallowed up, resulting in less lost speed. Bottom line. The Stumpjumper rocks every trail downhill with control, yet climbs every climb up with ease.

The Stumpjumper's S-sizing geometry hits the sweet spot. Long, low, flat, a low offset fork, a steeper seat tube angle - it all makes your ride a better experience. With the adjustable flip chip, you can tailor the bike to all conditions and make sure your Stumpjumper is tuned to perform on any terrain.

When Specialized introduced the SWAT Box on the Stumpjumper, they increased storage space. On this Stumpjumper, they increased the volume and added a SWAT bladder that allows you to stash an additional 650ml of water in your down tube.
