Details

Kånken has developed since it went on sale for the first time in 1978. This model has room for up to a 17" laptop in a special padded compartment at the back. Padded shoulder straps. Large main compartment, one side pocket and a zippered pocket in the front. The entire bag is made of durable Vinylon F. Fits a 17" laptop, maximum measurements 43 x 30 x 3 cm.

Vinylon F

Vinylon F is the name of the hard-wearing fabric that has contributed to Kånken's popularity over the years. While being a synthetic material - it is made of a fibre called polyvinyl alcohol - it has certain properties that are otherwise mostly found in natural materials.

Durable protection against moisture

The fabrics used in rucksacks normally require a coating, such as polyurethane (PU) or silicone, in order to be water resistant. The vinylon fibre, on the other hand, behaves like a natural material and swells when it becomes damp. Dampness also makes the fabric more dense, enabling it to withstand moisture without the need for a coating.
