Due to the tight supply situation for individual components, bikes may sometimes be delivered with deviating equipment. However, any alternative components used will be of a corresponding quality to that of the original components.
The latest version of the Santa Cruz Hightower is versatile, off-road and technically even better tuned. The Hightower is an all-rounder with large wheels, the right amount of suspension travel, balanced geometry, versatile equipment and proven durability. If you're not looking for extremes, but just something extremely good, the Hightower is the bike you've been waiting for.
The VPP system can be optimized for each bike to always achieve the right balance between drivetrain efficiency and rear end performance. If VPP stands on it, you can be sure that the rear triangle has been optimized for exactly the purpose for which the bike is built.
145mm of travel at the rear and 150mm at the front. There are descents that can use more travel, but if the climb is as important to you as the descent and you get up to speed on your home trails, then the Hightower is the perfect bike. The characteristic curve of the rear triangle is relatively gradlining. And develops a slight progression to the end of the suspension travel. This improves performance on hard hits and provides consistent support.
Compared to the last Hightower, Santa Cruz has significantly lowered the anti-squat value in the first 40% of travel. This noticeably improves the responsiveness of the rear end both in the climb and in the descent, due to the decoupling of the drive.
Pack everything you need under the flap in your down tube. The bike comes standard with "Tool Wallet" and "Tube Purse", two high quality finished bags that store your things safely and practically.
A small window makes it easy to adjust the suspension. Other nice details include the mudguard that protects the shock from dirt, a neat cable routing in the frame, and the rubberized downtube guard.
In the Low setting, the rear end becomes a bit more progressive, especially at the end of the stroke for more support before bottom-out. In the High setting, the bike stands a bit taller and offers the rider more support in the mid-travel area. All tinkerers can adapt the chassis so to their driving style and preference.
