Unlike other so-called “quiver killers” the all-new Trigger doesn’t need to compromise between too much travel and too little, too steep geometry, or too slack. Its new and improved Fox DYAD rear shock gives the rider the perfect travel and geometry for whatever terrain they’re attacking, making it possibly the most versatile bike Cannondale has ever made and the only bike you need in your garage. With suspension travel, which can be adapted during the ride from 85 mm to 140 mm, and a geometry that can be transformed instantly from XC bike to a stable descending bullet it's perfect for the adventurer who wants to see what’s around the next corner and over the next mountain pass.
Lurking inside the new Fox DYAD RT2 are two different shocks - one short travel (Elevate) and one long travel (Flow) - which are activated by a handlebar switch. The 2015 Dyad gets a redesigned Flow mode piston engineered to complement changes Cannondale have made to the SuperMax PBR Trail Damper. The new piston enables better oil flow for improved mid-to-high speed compression damping performance. This results in smoother, more supple mid to high speed performance. Like the SuperMax, these changes will be especially noticeable on small, sharp bumps, square edge hits and chatter/washboard bumps at speed. Sag optimized at 30% instead of 40% resulting in more usable/positive travel and increased ride height for better pedal clearance. Significantly wider range of rebound damping adjustment, thanks to increased oil flow.
ELEVATE: In this mode, the shock behaves like a short travel, XC-ish air shock. The Flow chamber is completely closed off and only the Elevate side of the shock is active. All oil is routed solely through Elevate damping circuits. Damping and Shock response is optimized for climbing and rolling terrain. Performance not compromised. High-speed, long travel damping is handling by separate circuit. Air spring volume is reduced / Spring rate gets very steep and progressive. This reduces travel for a snappy, efficient pedaling feel. Controls unwanted suspension movement via spring rate, rather than with extra compression damping like traditional shocks. This allows free and fluid movement through the first part of the stroke, for smoother, faster rolling and improved traction.
FLOW: In this mode, the shock behaves like a coil-spring DH shock. The Elevate and Flow air chambers are connected creating a large volume air spring and all oil is routed solely through FLOW damping circuits. Air spring volume is dramatically increased / Spring rate gets very linear and coil-spring-like. This increases travel for a fluid, supple feel and bigger hit capability. The linear-to-progressive spring rate gives a predictable, controlled feel, and prevents bottoming. All oil is routed solely through Flow damping circuits. Since damping duties for other types of terrain are handled by the Elevate circuits, the Flow circuits are optimized specifically around the needs of high speed, aggressive descending.
The Fox 32 Float 140 FIT CTD is a lightweight fork suited for everything from epic alpine riding to cross country racing. The brake hose routing is bolted to the casting. The 1.5" steerer and the light 15QR thru axle stiffen the chassis of the fork noticeably while still offering a quick and easy tool free way to remove and reinstall the wheel. The new FIT CTD damper offers the perfect fork setup for every situation with the simple flick of a switch. Fork damping setup has never been that easy without the need for in-depth knowledge on damper technology. Inside, the light and proven FIT damper works its magic. A dial on the lower end of the fork lets the rider easily adjust the rebound damping.
Cannondale Trigger Alloy is a pure expression of aluminium artistry! It is made of 6061 aluminium alloy and heat-treated to a T6 hardness for strength and durability. The shape optimized tubing helps reducing weight and increasing strength. The trademark double-pass smooth weld technology eliminates the stress-risers and weak points found on traditionally welded frames.
The ECS-TC SYSTEM stands for a clamped, 15 mm thru-axles in the shock linkage and swingarm pivot, as well as double bearings at the rear dropouts. That eliminates flex and provides unmatched center-stiffness for complete control. In addition, the frame comes with modern PressFit30 bottom bracket standard.
The Trigger 27.5 Alloy 3 is equipped with SRAM components for smooth shifting performance with 2x10-speed. Proven hydraulic Magura MT4 disc brakes allow great braking power.
A lightweight but solid wheelset and WTB tires provide a guarantee that acceleration forces of any direction transfer directly to the trail and the wide handlebar provides maximum performance.
Also contributing to the enormous versatility is the X-Fusion Hilo dropper post with internal routing. It saves the seat adjustment before and after downhill sections.
