The 6d Night Protein consists only of high-quality micellar casein isolate with an exceptionally high casein-to-whey ratio (95:5). This means that one dose contains an incredible 37 g of slow-absorbing protein and only 2 g of fast-absorbing protein. What's more, this exceptionally high dose of protein is provided in a relatively small amount (300 ml). This reduces the likelihood of interrupted nights, as a larger amount of liquid significantly increases the risk of a night-time visit to the toilet. In short, 6d Night Protein is the ideal shake before going to bed. Especially for athletes who want to build more muscle and/or muscle strength, but also for athletes who want to optimize their nightly recovery after a strenuous workout!
Scientific studies have confirmed the positive effects of protein on muscle strength and/or muscle mass and have shown that protein supports rapid muscle recovery after exercise. Consuming 20 to 30 g of protein every 3 to 4 hours maximizes these positive effects. These doses should therefore be provided with every meal and certainly after training. For older people and after strength training, where the whole body is trained, a dose of 40 g protein is even recommended. Even if regular consumption is recommended, it is not advisable to consume protein at night. In addition, a wake-up alarm every 3 to 4 hours would interfere with an athlete's sleep and recovery. For this reason, researchers are looking for a practical solution to stimulate muscle regeneration during the night.
In addition to the well-known whey protein, which is absorbed very quickly, milk also contains casein protein. Casein appears to be the most suitable protein source to take before bedtime due to its delayed release. In recent years, several methods have been tested with casein protein. A few years ago, scientists showed that providing casein before bedtime increases muscle protein synthesis during the night. In a follow-up study, researchers showed that taking casein before bed during a 12-week resistance training program led to an increase in muscle mass and strength. Although the optimal norm has not yet been determined and further research is certainly needed, there is clear evidence that at least 40 g of protein before bedtime is necessary to provide muscles with sufficient building blocks for the night. Even the addition of leucine at a lower level (e.g. 30 g protein) is insufficient.
Mix 52 g powder (= 2 spoons) with 300 ml water. To be taken within 30 minutes before bedtime. Drink cold or pour into a cup and then heat in the microwave.
The product should be taken as part of a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Store in a cool, dry place.
