Description of Maxxis Minion DHF Front MTB Folding Tire TR EXO 3C MaxxTerra - 29 inch

The Standard in a trail-ready spec!
The Minion DHF was designed for the often loose and muddy conditions of aggressive all-mountain terrain. The DHF incorporates ramped knobs for low rolling resistance and channel-cut knobs to increase gripping edges, giving straight-line control and precise cornering.

The 3C MaxxTerra is an intermediate compound configuration used in select mountain tyres. 3C Maxx Terra is softer and offers more traction than 3C Maxx Speed, yet provides better treadwear and less rolling resistance than Maxx Grip.

Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tire; and less chance of flatting since there is no tube. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tires provide the benefits of a UST tubeless tire without the weight penalty. Maxxis TR tires use a standard casing and require the use of a liquid sealant in order to make them airtight. Maxxis Tubeless Ready tires are the only Maxxis tires approved for use with liquid sealants.

EXO Protection is an extremely cut and abrasion resistant material that protects the sidewall. It is very tightly woven, light and very flexible. This keeps the performance of the tire unchanged good.

Model 29x2.5" comes as WT version:

Wide Trail (WT) tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work perfectly on all rims with an inner rim width of 30-40 mm.

Note: Tubeless Ready tires require tubeless compatible rims/wheels, tubeless valves, tubeless rim tape and sealing fluid for tubeless mounting. Sealant fluid is not required for tubeless UST tires, but is recommended for increased puncture protection. Installation should only be carried out by qualified personnel.

Customer Reviews
Excellent
Bought this in the 2.5 version to replace my front 2.4 Rekon on my 2021 Spark 950.

Pros:
-huge difference in absorbing the landing after jumps
-absorbs the small bumps while riding on an uneven/rocky/rooty trail
-grips for days, gives me more confidence on sharp loose ground turns
-more puncture protection

Cons:
-nothing

Thoughts: Comparing it with the Rekon it replaced, you get all those pros that I’ve mentioned above with just a 205g weight penalty. Also, it’s a fast rolling tire for its category. What I mean by that is that you’ll certainly feel that it’s a little bit slower rolling that let’s say an XC tire but in reality, comparing it again with my Rekon, it’s just a couple of seconds slower. Definitely worth the buy.
