Cosmic SL 45 – Optimized Aerodynamics
Less air resistance, more watts. This is made possible not only by the 45 mm high rim profile of the Cosmic SL, but also by its flat spokes, which have been developed by experts in aerodynamics and tested in the wind tunnel. However, streamlining is only one aspect of the lightweight wheelset. The full carbon rims impress with their great versatility and reduced rolling resistance. Properties that they owe to the internal width of 23 mm and Mavic's proven UST technology.
Meanwhile, the Infinity aluminum hubs with their concept based on uniform spoke tension ensure maximum agility, extreme efficiency and even better responsiveness. As a Disc model, the Cosmic SL 45 wheelset is also perfectly adapted to the special requirements of road bikes with disc brakes. Accordingly, not only has the number of spokes on the front and rear wheel been increased, but Straightpull spokes are also used to achieve the necessary stiffness and stability.

UST (Universal Standard for Tubeless) | Traction and control. With its UST system, Mavic plays a pioneering role in Tubeless technology. An almost symbiotic relationship between tire and rim makes it possible to ride without a tube. The advantages are up to 15 % less rolling resistance, more comfort and better grip, as a lower tire pressure is sufficient. In addition, UST rims are up to 20 grams lighter than conventional concepts with inner tubes.
Infinity Hub Design | Powerful and ultra-reliable. This hub concept focuses on uniform spoke tension. This characteristic is the prerequisite for an extremely stable, smooth and durable wheel. In contrast to other spoke systems, there is no contact between the spokes, which prevents disturbing noises in the event of impacts or heavy loads. All spokes are the same length and can be replaced without having to remove the wheel. Simple and effective.
ID360 (Instant Drive 360) | Efficiency and rigidity. Non-contact oversize rubber seals reduce the friction of this ultra-light freehub system to a minimum. A large selection of adapters also makes it compatible with a wide range of frames and axles.
QRM Auto (Qualité de Roulements Mavic Auto) | Safety and reliability. The industrial bearings are double-sealed and have an increased internal clearance (C3). As the name suggests, the highlight is that they automatically readjust to ensure perfect rotation without any play in the long term.
