Founded in 1947 by Jeanne Salomon, her husband François and their son Georges in Annecy, south-east France, the brand celebrated its first major breakthrough with the invention of a ski binding with automatic release. Their passion for mountaineering and outdoor activities led to the development of the first Salomon running and hiking boots in the 90‘s, as well as suitable equipment and apparel.
