R-Sys SLR: One of the lightest clincher wheelset by Mavic. Featuring wider and deeper rims.
R-Sys SLR is based on the exclusive aero shaped ISM 4D rims and the feather light Yksion Pro tires for an even lower inertia, boosted by super-light bearings and the exclusive Tracomp spoke technology. Lightweight and responsiveness with no compromise on reliability.
Tracomp technology prevents loss of tension on spokes to maintain high stiffness under high loads and the maximized rear wheel dish increases lateral stiffness. Carbon spokes don't stretch as much as steel or aluminum ones which limit wheel deflection and they are lighter than their alloy counterpart. Low stress wheels allow extra light rim extrusion and maximized ISM to reduce inertia.
The Yksion Pro GripLink
is the right front tire when grip makes the difference. Rely on the Yksion Pro GripLink features to make the difference in cornering. It has been thought to match with performance of Mavic front wheel-tire system.
The Yksion Pro PowerLink
is the ideal rear tire when responsiveness makes the difference. Rely on the Yksion Pro PowerLink features to make the difference in accelerations. It has been thought to match with performance of Mavic rear wheel-tire system.
Available with 23 or 25 mm wide tire.
The Mavic exclusive Exalith 2 technology for aluminum rims has been refined to provide a very high level of durability and braking performance in all weather conditions. Braking distance shortened by 18% in wet conditions, while keeping pads wear to normal level. Exalith treatment penetrates the alloy to delay rim wear and maintain distinctive anthracite grey color for thousands of kilometers. New special black Mavic Exalith 2 brake pads to ensure quiet and high braking performance and longevity (delivered with the wheels).
(Inter Spoke Milling 4 Dimensions) - An exclusive Mavic patented concept, ISM 4D not only significantly reduces weight and reduces inertia without compromising durability, but also improves aerodynamics due to its new rim shape. Further advantages: up to 50 grams lighter for faster climbing, the lowest inertia for instant acceleration and a smooth aerodynamic rim shape to reduce drag.
(Force Transfer System Light) - Reinforcement of key transmission components: the contact area between the pawl and the hub body is reinforced by 2 stainless steel inserts, which allows the use of a 100% aluminum hub body. Advantages: greater efficiency due to better transmission of efforts on the entire wheel and lightweight and strong hub design.
- Exclusive to Mavic, this new technology include tubular carbon spokes that are working both in traction and compression for a light and rigid wheel.
- By drilling only one rim wall, we made the rim four times more resistant to fatigue stress. All your energy is transmitted through a 40% increase in rigidity.
(Qualité de Roulements Mavic Super Light) - The super light bearings are designed having in mind the QRM strict specifications. The matching hub axles are machined within extremely narrow tolerances, then one by one adjusted with very high precision when assembled.
A highly resistant and lightweight aluminum alloy for spokes.
- Exclusive to Mavic. An aluminium alloy that is 30% more resistant than a 6106 alloy for lighter and spicier rims.
(Soudé Usiné Process) - A welded and milled rim joint which is extremely strong, eliminates shuddering when braking and offers superior wheel balance.
A good tire, must fully liberate the wheel's potential and even enhance its performance. Therefore, the expected benefits of the front tire are different from the rear one. GripLink clinchers are optimized for front use. The safest grip with great steering control: Dual compound "S+" with added Silica. Hold the road in any situation: light and supple high density casing. Reduced risk of flats: strong Nylon anti-puncture breaker.

Never turn a TraComp spoke nipple without having first removed the TraComp rings from the hub, otherwise the spoke may be irreversibly damaged. Never fit another computer magnet other than the one integrated. Only transport the wheels in the wheel bags supplied. Avoid side shocks to the TraComp spokes.
To ensure a permanent efficient braking function Mavic recommend to use only Mavic® Special Exalith brake pads. The use of other brake pads can result in injury to the rider. In this case the Mavic warranty goes out.
Mavic Care manufacturer's warranty:
The Mavic Care program offers you the opportunity to activate a 2 year warranty for all Mavic wheels purchased new from 2016 onwards. For certain wheels you can extend that warranty by 1 year to a total of 3 years free of charge. An overview of those wheels can be found here
. With the registration to Mavic Care you're also eligible for Mavic's Crash Replacement Program.
