Aero head tube - no bulky nose cone, but an extremely thin, aerodynamically optimized shape. CCS - Constant Cross-section seat tube - The airflow over the seat tube is predominantly horizontal. The seat tube shape has a cross section shape that is separately optimized everywhere between bottom bracket and the seat stay joint. Cervelo aero carbon IAA seat post - With its Integrated Accessory Attachment, this seat post can secure behind-the-seat components such as water bottle holders much more securely. Integrated seat tube collar - By integrating the seat tube collar completely into the top tube, Cervelo is able to smoothen the aerodynamic profile even further. The airflow doesn't even see the collar, yet the seat post can be removed with ease. By integrating the seat post into the frame aerodynamically but not structurally, you can fit the P3 into any bike case and travel without a problem, something that is very difficult to do with other integrated seat post solutions that have the seat post molded into the frame in one piece.
Smartwall for Carbon - with the sides far away from the center plane, Cervelo concentrates more material there to increase the benefit. Strips of high and ultra-high modulus carbon stiffen the sides of the main tubes to resist lateral bending. These strips are feathered in to properly transfer the loads from the joints into these tubes. Finally, Kevlar in the headtube/downtube area increases the impact strength. Adjustable geometry - The flippable seat post allows for an adjustment in seat tube angle range of 74-79 degrees so the rider can tailor the geometry to his/her specific desires.
