Description of Hope Tech 3 E4 Disc Brake Braided Hose rear - blue

The Tech 3 E4 four piston brake has been completely new developed and is perfectly suited for Single Trail, All Mountain and Freeride use. Caliper and lever are CNC machined from a solid billet of 2014 T6 aluminium. With its revised caliper and brilliant Tech 3 lever, the E4 offers a wide range of riders the power and adjustability they need.

Tech 3 lever
Hope has kept the key features of the Tech Evo master cylinder and worked to improve the ergonomics and integration on the handlebars. The Tech 3 master cylinder can operate all the calipers from Hope's range and offers a slight increase of power of about 5% over the Tech Evo. Popular design features of Tech Evo remain the same, such as the reach and bite point control (BPC)adjustability. The piston is actuated by a cam and a roller system to eliminate any free play and initial friction. The classic split clamp design makes the master cylinder easy to install on the handlebars without having to remove anything else. The Tech 3 master cylinder is now directly compatible with any Shimano I-Spec type shifter meaning no extra mount is required to attach the shifter to the master cylinder. For those using SRAM shifters a slick and minimalistic direct mount adaptor is available.

E4 Caliper
The one piece caliper is CNC machined from a solid billet of 2014 T6 aircraft spec aluminium alloy. The E4 caliper uses four identical 16mm phenolic pistons which gives more usable power to the brake, whilst keeping the legendary Hope "feel". The fluid inlet connector has been placed on the inner side to avoid creasing of the the hose. A drip free bleed nipple has also been added, allowing a cleaner servicing. Both caliper and lever are featuring a durable anodized finish with Hope graphics to withstand weather, cleaning and general trail use.

Note: The brake is delivered filled and bled. Neither a disc/rotor nor an adaptor are included in delivery and have to be ordered separately.

Included in delivery: 1 brake with mounting material (disc / rotor and adaptor not included!)

Customer Reviews
Als Vergleich habe ich im Haushalt: Magura MT2 & MT6 (MJ 2012); Shimano BL-M785 & BL-M8000

++ Referenz in Haptik und Verarbeitung (gefolgt von Shimano, Schlusslicht Magura aufgrund Griffe)
++ Referenz in Dosierbarkeit (gefolgt von Magura, Shimano Schlusslicht, v.a. die M8000)
++ einfaches Entlüften (ähnlich einfach wie Shimano, Magura Schlusslicht)
o Ersatzbeläge ähnlich teuer wie bei Konkurrenz
- geringe Bremskraft (Shimano & Magura besser)
- schleiffreies Einstellen braucht Geduld (Shimano & Magura einfacher)
