A classic from Japan in a European guise - Opinel pays respect to Far Eastern cuisine with the Santoku from the Parallele Collection. The 17 cm long blade remains rigid and stable when cutting. The wooden handle is lacquered to protect it from moisture and dirt of all kinds.
Beech is the most commonly used wood for making Opinel knife handles. Beech wood comes from France, it is hard, resistant and easy to work. It has a homogeneous appearance and the light color varies from yellowish to pinkish. You can recognize the wood by the many dark, small strokes. The handle was lacquered to be better protected from moisture and dirt.
