Technical hiking pants in stretch and G-1000 for extreme freedom of movement and durability, ideal for hiking in hilly terrain where nothing should impede your progress. The seat and knees are pre-shaped for optimal fit. The waist is cut higher in the back than in the front, so the pants fit snugly when you're carrying a pack or bending down. The inseams are missing entirely and have been replaced with whole pieces of fabric, reducing abrasion.
Zippered welt pockets sit so you can reach them even if you're wearing a backpack with a relief strap. A larger leg pocket with flap and a smaller inner mesh pocket on the right leg, a smaller pocket for cell phone or GPS device on the left leg. Stretch fabric at the back cuff and G-1000 reinforcements at the seat, knees and leg cuffs. Unshortened length that easily adjusts to your leg length.
With G-1000, you're ready for adventures in all climates, from the tropics to the polar regions. The fabric can withstand years of heavy use far off the beaten path. The fact that G-1000 is also adaptable to the weather probably makes it one of the best outdoor materials available.
G-1000 is made from a blend of polyester and cotton that has been waxed with a thin layer of Greenland Wax. The wax gives the material extra protection from dirt, wind and moisture and can easily be applied thicker or washed out as needed.
Durable: G-1000 is extremely abrasion resistant: it is more than twice as durable as denim fabric. This high durability, combined with low weight, makes G-1000 garments ideal for travel and outdoor activities.
Water-repellent: Garments in G-1000 treated with Greenland Wax are highly resistant to rain and moisture. This means that you stay dry during short rain showers. If the material does get really wet, it dries quickly.
Windproof: Due to its dense weave, G-1000 is almost completely windproof. Impregnated, this material is an excellent protection against biting wind.
Breathable: One of the most outstanding features of G-1000 fabric is its superior breathability: it effectively wicks away body moisture, which is especially beneficial during sweaty outdoor activities.
Mosquito-proof: the dense fabric keeps mosquitoes and other flying pests away from the skin, which is very comfortable in the mountains, in the forest or when traveling to warm countries. G-1000 Lite is not mosquito proof.
UV protection: The dense fabric provides almost 100% protection from the sun's alpha and beta rays.
