The Makra Trek SF Extra GTX is the perfect boot for longer hikes and multi-day tours with heavy packs. The special feature of this model is the HANWAG StraightFit Extra last. This last combines the wide toe box of the StraightFit last to straighten the big toe with the additional space in the forefoot and ball of the foot of our Wide last version. As a result, it offers the right fit, especially for people with a wide forefoot - and the desire for space for the big toe. Despite the spacious forefoot area, the midfoot sits well in the shoe, guaranteeing perfect support even on difficult terrain. This is also ensured by the optimized Ghilly lacing up to the toe area, where the laces are pulled through textile loops. The "HANWAG 2 Zone Lock" guarantees improved heel hold: unlike a conventional clamp hook, the mechanical clamp locks reliably and cannot slip once it has been secured - without manual intervention. Thanks to the so-called "Makra-Fit", the Makra Trek SF Extra GTX fits snugly around the foot - resulting in excellent power transmission. The shoe and foot thus form a single unit - from the toes to the heel. The adapted, outstandingly cushioning PU midsole is perfectly matched to the StraightFit Extra last. In addition, the Vibram Trekking SF outsole with its wide tread surface ensures good stability and sturdiness. Thanks to the waterproof GORE-TEX membrane, feet stay dry even in wet conditions; the Perwanger leather used is robust, breathable and durable.
