VeloPlugs are the best idea since the introduction of the clincher rim, patented worldwide. 32 Veloplugs weigh 5 grams - an ordinary rim tape weighs about 20 grams. At this point, therefore, weight is saved with very simple means where it has the most effect - on the very outside of the wheel. If the wheel has fewer spokes, the savings are even greater.
The conventional rim tape is no longer needed. Instead, the VeloPlugs are clicked into the nipple hole of the rim and thus take over the task of the rim tape. VeloPlugs simplify the assembly of tube and tire and can be reused as often as desired. And they are loadable up to 24bar (please do not try: tire, tube and rims fail much earlier).
The VeloPlugs are available in two sizes, suitable for two different diameters of rim holes. The red VeloPlugs fit into 8 mm rim holes. The yellow VeloPlugs fit in many system wheels with spoke holes from 8.5 to 9.2mm. Supplied the VeloPlugs in a package of 64 pieces - so every wheelset can be equipped.
