Combining maximum comfort with the benefits of excellent temperature regulation, the third generation of the Prevail is the ultimate all-round helmet that excels in hot conditions, strenuous climbs and mountain stages. To achieve this, the engineers have removed the airflow-blocking foam bridges in the middle of the helmet, making the Prevail 3 the Specialized helmet with the largest ventilation area (24.5 % larger than the area of the Prevail II Vent).

Helmet design redefined
The conventional approach to helmet design is to use more foam (EPS) for better energy distribution. In order to revolutionize the management of impact energy, Specialized was innovative with the Prevail 3 beyond the correct use of foam. With the so-called AirCage construction, woven aramid "cables" run through the helmet, which are attached to the side panels made of carbon fibres. In the event of an impact, the technology uses the same functional principle as a suspension bridge to distribute local forces over the entire helmet.

MIPS Air Node | The ultra-light and extremely comfortable MIPS Air Node technology is integrated directly into the helmet padding. It consists of a smooth, low-friction layer that effectively dissipates rotational forces. Based on Specialized's development work, MIPS has incorporated perforations into this layer that maximize breathability, performance, comfort and weight savings. The fact that Specialized takes its responsibility to the rider seriously is also proven by the 5 stars in the renowned Virginia Tech® Helmet Rating™.

Mindset Fit System | Revised for easier handling while riding, the occipital base adjustment concept improves comfort by allowing you to customize the fit of the helmet to the shape of your head. While the ultra-light and ANGi-compatible Mindset system can also be adjusted in height for fine adjustment, the adjustability of the helmet angle guarantees greater compatibility with a wide range of goggle models.

Tri-Fix Web System | The Tri-Fix strap system offers the rider additional wearing comfort thanks to individual adjustment options. The revised and thinner strap with a width of 10 mm also minimizes the noise usually caused by the strap.
