Product Description:

Comete Road - the reference rear Wheel for time trial and triathlon.

Aerodynamics and weight are the key factors for this Wheel System. The lenticular flanges create negative drag under some wind conditions, boosting speed. The High Modulus carbon fibre flanges decrease weight and inertia and deliver faster acceleration. This SSC Wheel is the pro's choice. Its distinctive full black look is completed by SSC graphics.

The Comete provides boosted acceleration because of its ultra low weight. This is achieved by high-modulus carbon fiber walls with unidirectional and honeycomb weave for ultra-light strength. The Exalith treatment offers optimal braking efficiency and a distinctive look. According to the manufacturer braking distances can be 18% shorter than average in wet or dry conditions. Reduced rim wear gives them extra longevity and a full black look that lasts for thousands of kilometers.

The used aluminum axle offers durability but also minimal weight.

Technologies:

ISM (Inter Spoke Milling) - an exclusive Mavic patented concept, ISM involves the machining of the lower bridge of the rim between each spoke hole to create a light and rigid rim without reducing the durability of the rim.

FTS-L (Force Transfer System Light) - Reinforcement of key transmission components: the contact area between the pawl and the hub body is reinforced by 2 stainless steel inserts, which allows the use of a 100% aluminum hub body. Advantages: greater efficiency due to better transmission of efforts on the entire wheel and lightweight and strong hub design.

QRM+ (Qualité Roulements Mavic Plus) - Mavic Quality Bearings Plus. Those cartridge bearings are of course double sealed with C3 internal clearance, and toped with a micro-adjustability system.
