With the introduction of a hydraulic disc brake system for the new DURA-ACE, SHIMANO's flagship group gets a braking option that guarantees even better braking performance and control at the highest level. Regardless of the weather or track conditions, road cyclists can thus always fully rely on excellently controllable and with ample reserves provided deceleration performance.

The hydraulic disc brake calipers can be mounted directly to the frame / fork through their flat-mount design, which provides a flatter profile and increases efficiency. The heat management, so the effective dissipation of heat generated during braking, is further improved with the new DURA-ACE brake discs and ensures even more stable braking performance. Due to the enlarged adapter between the braking surface and cooling fins on the disc, heat dissipation from the disc surface is improved by a further 30 °C compared to the ICE-TECH FREEZA brake discs.
