The Rekon is a fast rolling XC trail tire inspired by the Ikon, Maxxis most popular XC tire. Medium and technical terrain are its home. Wide center lugs provide good control under braking and acceleration. L-shaped side lugs give secure grip in corners, even on loose surfaces. The Rekon has all the ingredients to become as popular as the Icon.

Dual Compound

Two different rubber compounds are combined into one tread strip. Maxxis plans the arrangement of the compounds according to the desired characteristics of the tires.

Tubeless Ready

Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other "Tubeless Ready" tires. The bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer, just like a real UST tubeless tire. This means that tubeless mounting on all rims with standard dimensions is already successful with the first inflation and with little liquid.

EXO Protection

This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very tightly woven, light and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tires remains convincingly good.

Wide Trail

The tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work excellently on all rims with an inner dimension of 30-39 mm.

Note: Tubeless Ready tires require tubeless compatible rims/wheels, tubeless valves, tubeless rim tape and sealing fluid for tubeless mounting. Sealant fluid is not required for tubeless UST tires, but is recommended for increased puncture protection. Installation should only be carried out by qualified personnel.
