The Almanzo is the successor to Grifo XS with 33mm width. This folding tire is designed for gravel roads and performs low rolling resistance on the road. Better traction and cornering in loose pack gravel with a comfortable casing volume achieving great comfort, control and handling. The handmade tire is perfect for cyclocross, gravelracing and commuting.
The 260 TPI casing made of a polyester is very supple and features a Double Puncture Protection Strip (PPS2), which are two extra layers of highly resistant material between the casing and the tire to reduce the risk of punctures.
Open tubular tires mount like a standard clincher and are made using the same process as regular tubular tires, but instead of sewing the casing together, the sides of the tubular casing are folded around aramid fiber cords to produce the beads. The result is a tire that maintains most of the suppleness and ride quality gained from a tubular to offer excellent traction and cornering grip, low rolling resistance and shock absorption.
