Anton Lintner founded his company Dachstein, named after the highest mountain in Upper Austria, in 1925 with one mission in mind – developing the perfect footwear for adventures on the mountain. Since then, the company has developed into a specialist for ski and mountain boots. Today, Dachstein is considered a leader in the market when it comes to trekking shoes and mountain boots for men or women.
After a merger in the 1990s, the company was re-founded in 2013 as Dachstein Outdoor & Lifestyle GmbH. Dachstein expanded its range to include hiking boots and leisure shoes. This message still stands, even after the merger with the Finnish group Luhta Sportswear in 2019.
