Faserwerk Bergreif Wheel Set - Carbon | DT 240 - SRAM XDR

When developing the Bergreif, the goal was to maximize aerodynamic efficiency from every single gram. The result is a wheel weighing 1200g (Shimano HG) or 1280g (SRAM XDR) - a weight typically achieved only by absolute specialists.

The combination of low weight and aerodynamics makes the Bergeif the best choice for most rides. It outperforms heavier wheels even on gradients as low as 2%. The lightweight rim also has a positive effect on handling: The wheel accelerates effortlessly, handling is lively and agile, and thanks to the low rim, crosswinds have little effect on steering.

Best aerodynamics per gram

The rim profile was chosen so that every additional gram of weight provides even more aerodynamic benefits than the previous one. A taller rim would indeed be even more aerodynamic, but the aerodynamic gain per additional gram decreases. 

Tried-and-true components

When it comes to hubs and spokes, we rely on proven components. DT Swiss 240 hubs are considered the most reliable on the market; they are durable yet lightweight.

DT Aerolite spokes are the best DT Swiss has to offer. They combine minimal weight with an aerodynamic cross-section. The classic version with a J-bend head is used, as measurements have shown that this contributes to a stiffer and more aerodynamic wheel.

Modern rim profile

With an inner width of 23 mm, the maximum width for 28-mm tires within ETRTO regulations has been fully utilized. To ensure a secure tire fit, a rim profile with hooks is used, which is optimized for tubeless tires.
