The story of BMC is also the story of a Swiss sports enthusiast: Andy Rihs. The former CEO of hearing aid manufacturer Phonak took over the Bike Manufacturing Company in 2000. Only a few years later, the riders of the Phonak Cycling Team celebrated their Tour debut and their first stage victories.
