Black Diamond Speed Ultra 35 Backpack - Storm Gray

The 35-liter Speed Ultra backpack was specifically designed for technical alpine climbing and, thanks to Challenge Sailcloth’s innovative UltraWeave 200x fabric, is ultra-lightweight yet durable.

The Speed Ultra 35 is an extremely functional climbing backpack designed for light and fast expeditions from Alaska to Patagonia and beyond. It combines an ultralight design with maximum durability. This balanced ratio of weight to strength is achieved primarily through the integration of Challenge Sailcloth’s UltraWeave™ 200x fabric in combination with UltraTNT™ PSA tape. The Speed Ultra’s durability is further enhanced by the high-strength UltraWeave™ 400x fabric on the reinforced bottom of the backpack. The Speed Ultra is a fully packable top-loader with a removable hip belt, lid pocket, and frame, as well as side compression straps and crampon and ice axe loops. Inspired by the technology used in the Black Diamond Solution Harness, a new shoulder strap system has been developed that is extremely comfortable while remaining flat against the body. The PickPockets™ for ice axes now feature a new, custom-made metal ice axe mount that improves the security of the ice axes. Crampon straps and a stowable rope loop secure gear to the exterior without snagging. Premium Siberian SR buckles are glove-friendly and won’t freeze, while the easily accessible double-collar provides easy access and protection against moisture ingress.
