The AIR 9, Niner’s lightweight aluminum hardtail, has always been a high-performance bike. So how do you improve something that’s already high-performance? For one thing, Niner retains the outstanding characteristics of its proven hydroformed aluminum frame. Lightweight and responsive, lively and dynamic—the AIR 9 has plenty of stiffness to get you up to speed quickly as soon as you start pedaling hard.

Next comes the Niner [R]evolution geometry, which positions the rider in the optimal, balanced position on the bike—and suddenly the riding experience is significantly better, much better. Add to that the Boost 148 spacing, because a wide selection of tires and wheels is always an advantage. Rounding it all out is internal cable routing for a dropper seatpost—and just like that, you’ve made a high-performance bike even more capable.

Whether with 1x, 2x, or 3x shifting or as a single-speed—the new AIR 9 is comfortable enough for all-day rides and fast enough to go full throttle in races. It handles whatever you throw at it. Genetically modified? Maybe not. But it’s definitely fun to ride.
