Castelli Estremo 2 Shoecover - black 010
One goal: to keep your feet warm even in the harshest conditions.
Castelli set out to develop the warmest overshoes to date, which meant they had to rethink the way overshoes are made. For wind protection, they chose the fleece-lined Polartec® AirCore™ fabric, which also wicks more moisture away than any other windproof material. Then they added a second layer of fleece, which is unmatched in terms of overall bulk.
The two layers are so thick that they had to incorporate a single-layer “wheel well” construction in the ball-of-the-foot area to prevent the fabric from rubbing against the crank. They designed the overshoe with a high cut to provide extra warmth and adequate splash protection. Castelli recommends pairing these overshoes with the “Scorpion Logo 20” thermal socks for maximum warmth.
