At Castelli, Nano Flex has always stood for innovation. It earned its reputation by providing effective water protection—in any weather. The reality, however, is clear: in a PFAS-free world, such a treatment is no longer possible under any circumstances. So we started from scratch. With the Nano Flex EVO, we didn’t try to revive the past. Instead, we developed something specifically for this purpose: a true rain bib, designed exclusively for cycling in the rain.
The Nano Rain bib shorts are designed for hardcore cyclists who won’t let bad weather stop them from cycling: when the roads are wet, temperatures are low, and staying dry is more important than versatility. They’re made from tightly woven polypropylene fabric with a PFAS-free C0-DWR coating that’s naturally water repellent while also providing exceptional warmth. This construction forms a protective barrier that offers shelter even in extremely inclement weather. To support this performance-oriented function, the bib shorts feature a minimal-seam construction, a raw-cut hem at the ankle for reduced bulk when worn with overshoes, and integrated reflective strips with the Nano Flex EVO logo for improved visibility. These are not all-weather bib shorts.
It’s a piece designed exclusively for use in the rain, and it must be cared for carefully to deliver its full performance. Wash the trousers after every ride in the rain. While the garment is still damp after washing, apply a generous amount of water repellent spray and then let it dry for 24 hours. Once dry, store them away until the next rainy day. When the weather is bad but the ride goes on anyway, the Nano Rain bib shorts are the piece you can count on—specially designed, uncompromising, and ready for the worst weather you’re willing to ride in.
