Gone are the days when, after a long climb, you’d grab a newspaper from a helpful spectator and tuck it into the front of your jersey before tackling a long, cold descent. The extra protection for the midsection is still important, but thanks to technological advances, the “newspaper solution” is a thing of the past. The RS SF Bib Tights S11 EVO offer fully integrated protection against wind chill at all times.
The RS SF S11 EVO’s flakFoil technology consists of a 3L softshell panel. It unfolds beneath the straps across the chest, providing immediate storm-proof protection. When not needed, the flakFoil discreetly tucks away into its designated bag directly behind the left strap. This design not only provides protection in an emergency but also frees up space in your bags that would otherwise be taken up by a shell vest or jacket. This leaves more room for accessories, snacks, and other essentials.
The main fabric is the same ultra-soft, breathable thermal fabric as in the previous generation. The storm-proof softshell insert in the crotch is also back. It protects your midsection from cooling due to wind chill and from splashing water. The antimicrobial insert features the same floating design and airflow-enhancing technologies as the RS SCHTRADIVARI S11 summer bib shorts, but in these bib tights, the insert is protected behind the breathable softshell panel. The result is high breathability without creating a cold draft—dry warmth that’s crucial for riding in cool weather.
