Campagnolo Super Record EPS Groupset 2x12 - Mechanical Rim Brakes

Description

Campagnolo Super Record EPS Groupset 2x12 - Mechanical Rim Brakes

Shift differently, shift better, the Super Record 12-speed goes electronic!

The Campagnolo Super Record EPS is the flagship of Campagnolo® shifting systems thanks to the technologies, materials and craftsmanship with which the groupset is made. In addition, it is now consolidating its role as a reference with the transition to the 12-speed system.

Campagnolo has paved the way with 8, 9, 10, 11 and most recently 12-speed groupsets and has always been a pioneer in the evolution of drivetrain systems for road bikes. The recent introduction of the Super Record and Record mechanical drivetrains not only marked a new era in mechanical groupset technology, but also laid the foundation for the electronic version of the Super Record EPS 12-speed groupset. The EPS technology was tested by athletes in practice and before it saw the light of day on the market, it passed the test phase of the Campy Tech Lab as usual in the most demanding test scenario in the world, the World Tour.

The popular groupset is now available in a 12 speed version with the V4 versions of the electronic components and interface. The groupset has been redesigned to adapt perfectly to the new 12 Speed technology and the 11-29 and 11-32 cassette combinations introduced in the mechanical version. A fast, always precise and effortless movement for the cyclist, together with a very gradual gear ratio are just some of the outstanding features of the new EPS groupset.

The Campagnolo Super Record EPS 2x12-speed groupset with mechanical rim brakes consists of:

  • Super Record EPS Ergopower 2x12-speed
  • Super Record EPS front derailleur 2x12-speed
  • Super Record EPS rear derailleur 2x12-speed
  • Super Record Dual Pivot brake body
  • Super Record cassette 12-speed
  • Super Record chain 12-speed

Supplied without interface and cables (internal frame routing), hubs and bottom bracket shells. These can be ordered separately. The rechargeable battery required for the groupset is also not included in the scope of delivery, as it cannot be shipped by air freight. For deliveries to the EU or Lichtenstein, Switzerland and Norway, the rechargeable battery can be ordered separately.

Campagnolo Super Record EPS

Campagnolo EPS, Electronic Power Shift, is a sophisticated electronic shifting system that, thanks to artificial intelligence(DTI, Digital Tech Intelligence), is able to convert the cyclist's actuation of the shift levers into digital signals, process them and control the movement of the front derailleur and shifters. The EPS system has electronics that are located centrally and not in the individual components. This digital intelligence, consisting of a power unit and interface, communicates with the components, from which it receives constant feedback and controls them. Centralized electronics mean greater system stability and less susceptibility to functional errors and malfunctions caused by falls. Should malfunctions occur with this high-tech development, the EPS system is able to detect them automatically. The On Board Diagnostic uses RGB LED color coding to indicate where a malfunction is present.

Super Record EPS rear derailleur

As with the front derailleur, the rear derailleur also uses many of the developments made for its mechanical 12-speed predecessor. The same 45° angle of movement corresponds to a new shift that electronically improves the winding of the chain, which is specific to each pinion. Improved power transmission and reduced wear on the drivetrain's wearing parts are just two of the advantages of the new rear derailleur's positioning compared to the cassette. Compatible with both the 11-29 and 11-32 cassettes, the two derailleur pulleys have a 12-tooth design and the 72.5 mm derailleur cage ensures perfect functionality. The slimmer and stronger structure of the derailleur cage leaves more space between the rear derailleur and spokes, which makes adjustment easier. Moving the chain to the 12 pinions of the cassette is a task that requires greater precision, considering that the number of chainrings at the same distance increases.

Super Record EPS Ergopower

The brake lever, reworked with the 12-speed design, has a shape derived from the detailed studies of the Campy Tech Lab and, together with the positioning of the lever for downshifting, provides the cyclist with an intuitive, practical and comfortable "control center". The new Ergopower brake lever offers several adjustment options to better adapt to different hand sizes.
Multishifting technology, i.e. the ability to change multiple pinions with a single operation, is also available for the 12-speed cassette: With the MyCampy app, you can customize the Super Record EPS groupset. Finally, the Ergopower brake lever has the task of giving the athlete full check of the drivetrain functions, and the MODE button, located just behind the rear derailleur downshift lever on both right and left shifters, is the instrument for this. By simply interacting with the MODE button, the cyclist can check the battery charge level, make precise adjustments to the rear derailleur or front derailleur (even while riding) and check all kinds of diagnostics.

Super Record EPS front derailleur

The in-depth study by Campagnolo designers to develop the new shape of the mechanical 12-speed front derailleur is also applied to the electronic version, which guarantees fluid, efficient and reliable derailleur movement. Thanks to the internal chain guide in aluminum and the external chain guide in carbon fiber, the Super Record EPS front derailleur performs the front derailleur functions with maximum stiffness and efficiency.

Mechanical components

Campagnolo Super Record cassette

The Campagnolo Super Record 12-speed cassettes feature narrower sprockets, a smaller footprint and unchanged dimensions compared to the 11-speed sprocket packs, allowing all needs to be met with just two sprockets (11-29 and 11-32 teeth). The 12th pinion enables linear up or downshifting, with only one tooth skipped up to the seventh position, allowing the cyclist to find the optimum gear in any condition.
In addition, the side-by-side pinions ensure even faster, quieter and more precise shifting, thanks to the special tooth shape and surface treatment, which also extends the service life.

Campagnolo Super Record chain

The Campagnolo Super Record chain has been redesigned to allow it to be connected to the other 12-speed components of the drivetrain system. However, the first and fundamental objective was to reduce the dimensions. Thanks in part to the new bolts, which are perfectly flush with the outer surfaces of the links, the width is just 5.15 mm.
In addition, the focus was on increasing performance with the help of the Ultra Link system, which improves the safety and service life of the chain and, thanks to special treatment, is smoother and significantly increases shifting precision.

Super Record Dual Pivot brake body

Maximum performance, steep descents and high speeds can only be achieved and mastered in absolutely safe conditions, i.e. when you can rely on strong, controllable braking power.
The Campagnolo Super Record Dual Pivot brake pads ensure very short braking distances and, thanks to the lever system developed specifically for the Super Record and Campagnolo's many years of experience in mixing brake pads, always guarantee perfect braking power control.
Campagnolo has developed the Dual Pivot pivot system to offer Super Record users maximum braking power. The titanium bolts also ensure a super low weight and an extremely attractive appearance.

Notes:
The Campagnolo Super Record EPS groupset is only suitable for frames designed for internal cable routing.
