Nearly three decades in, the Deore XT brand is defined by its trail-tested durability, reliability and performance. As mountainbiking becomes faster and faster and the terrain even more technical, the M8100 series aims to give the rider the necessary feeling of confidence and safety.

Following the principle of passing on the experiences and technologies of the top series, the Deore XT incorporates the innovations of the high-end XTR components. Accordingly the new 12-speed groupset features of course Micro Spline and Hyperglide+.

Shimano Deore XT WH-M8100 29" rear wheel

The Shimano Deore XT WH-M8100-TL 29 inch rear wheel is characterized by a faster acceleration which amplifies riding excitement. While doing so 28 double butted Straightpull spokes ensure the wheel's stability making it very tenable and reliable. For providing dependable Trail performance the rear wheel features a 12 mm E-Thru axle as well. Last but not least the wheel features a Centerlock disc brake mount and the Micro Spline freewheel which makes it possible to install Shimano 12-speed cassettes.

Micro Spline

The aluminium freewheel with 22 evenly spaced teeth keeps the cassette firmly under control for immediate response and also allows the use of a 10 teeth sprocket. In addition, the smaller and compared to the usual Hyperglide freewheel bodies more extensive gearing prevents rotor damage.
