Drink Mix has changed the game for endurance sports. Drink Mix was developed to provide athletes with liquid carbohydrate fuel during longer training sessions and lower intensity competitions. The Drink Mix 160 contains 40 grams of carbohydrates and the Drink Mix 320 contains 80 grams of carbohydrates, which are dissolved in 500 ml of water. Athletes can suffer from gastrointestinal discomfort if they consume carbohydrates during high-intensity training. The hydrogel technology is the innovation that encapsulates the carbohydrates so that they can be transported through the stomach and absorbed. The drink mix turns into a hydrogel on contact with stomach acid, encapsulating the carbohydrates and helping to reduce the feeling of liquid sloshing in the stomach when you consume fuel during exercise.

When Drink Mix comes into contact with stomach acid, it forms a hydrogel that encapsulates the carbohydrates, keeping your stomach feeling good even during strenuous workouts.

New ingredient

Drink Mix now contains a small amount of sodium bicarbonate. Many sports drinks are acidic and attack tooth enamel. The sodium bicarbonate in Drink Mix helps to maintain a neutral pH (i.e. not below pH 6).

Possible uses of MAURTEN Drink Mix 160 / 320 drink powder

• Before training/competition: Maurten can be used as a carbo-loader before competitions. A simple option is to drink two Drink Mix 160 or one Drink Mix 320 the day before the competition.
• During training/competition: The amount of carbohydrates required depends on various factors. One of these is the duration of exercise. When running or cycling for 60 minutes or less, the recommended intake is up to 80 grams of carbohydrates at the beginning of the physical exertion. For short training sessions, a Mix Drink 160 is sufficient. For longer sessions of less than two hours, a Drink Mix 320 is recommended. For sessions lasting longer than two hours, one Drink Mix 320 can be taken per hour.
• After training/competition: After training sessions, the body needs carbohydrates for effective recovery. For this purpose, one Drink Mix 160 or one Drink Mix 320 can be taken within 30 minutes of the end of the session.
• Maurten's consumption recommendation: Mix the contents of one sachet with 500 ml of water Shake to completely dissolve the powder. For the hydrogel to function correctly, the mixing ratio must be strictly adhered to. The calcium content of the water should also be less than 40mg/L. Higher calcium concentrations can impair the dissolution of the product. The Drink Mixes can be consumed before, during and/or after exercise.
