This latest version of the Infinito R1 cycling shoe features a knitted construction that offers outstanding ventilation and is ultralightweight while maintaining all the fizik performance technologies.
While still providing all the advanced features race-tested with pro-peloton athletes, the latest version of the Infinito Knit features a refined knitted construction that seamlessly integrates superior ventilation throughout the upper, further streamlined by stripping away more weight than ever before. An incredibly breathable knitted mesh base blends with targeted knitted areas of heat-fused TPU yarn to create foot support where athletes need it most. This guarantees effective power transfer to the pedals with the same support and pedalling efficiency as that of a traditionally built cycling shoe.
The volume control system allows for differential fit adjustment in the instep and forefoot areas, whose shape and volume can vary greatly from rider to rider. Equipped with the Li2 BOA® Fit System platform with a smaller cog and lower, more aerodynamic profile, cyclists can fine-tune the fit to their unique foot shape, ensuring maximum performance without sacrificing comfort.
A special piece of the upper wraps around the instep and can be precisely adjusted with the Li2 BOA® platform for a perfect fit and improved plantar fascia support. The volume of the forefoot area can be controlled with the Infinito, a special fit adjustment system. The Infinito compensates for tension and eliminates further pressure points through the use of BOA® thread guidance. This system works over a larger area of the top of the shoe, pulling the eyelets inward evenly from all directions for a more supportive and comfortable fit.
This Infinito features an outsole with a special carbon fiber composite that saves weight and adds stiffness. With a stiffness index of 10, this outsole is currently the stiffest Fizik offers. A wide ventilation slot and deep internal channels provide cooling airflow that helps regulate temperature. Cleat positioning is set slightly further back compared to traditional settings to optimize pedaling efficiency and reduce stress on the knees, which is especially good for very aggressive, forward aero positions.
