The M 462 is based on the extremely successful DT Swiss Enduro rims, on which the world's fastest riders have won at the highest level worldwide. The M 462 packs this technology into a slightly slimmed down package while remaining affordable thanks to the wrapped rim joint.

The front wheels are all hand-spoked and carefully tensioned and centered. This and a high spoke tension guarantee high stability and durability of the wheel. SON uses Sapim Race stainless steel spokes with brass nipples.

The Sapim Race is a lightweight and strong butted spoke for a wide range of applications. Conified spokes from Sapim offer two key advantages: they are lighter and yet stronger. Through a special cold forging process, the linear molecular structure of the material is preserved and the strength of the thinner middle part is increased by at least 48%.
