This step down headset is designed to fit frames which are sized to accept 1.5" integral cups, where the fork has a 1 1/8 inch steerer. The headset includes custom made stainless steel bearings (which are replaceable). The cups, taper ring and crown race (which is split for easy installation and removal) are all machined from 2014 T6 aluminium.
All headsets come complete with the Head Doctor Ahead cap and expander set. Sealing is achieved through an adjustable taper ring cover and integrated rubber seal. The bearings also incorporate their own sealing, and being made from stainless steel resist corrosion - a real advantage over a conventional steel bearing.
The Hope 1.5 Step Down describes the 1.5 to 1 1/8 " step down Ahead headset with semi-integrated cups (zero stack). The S.H.I.S. (Standardized Headset Identification System) denotation is ZS49/28.6 | ZS49/30.
