Phase 30 – High-End Carbon. Light & Tough.

Minimal weight. Maximum performance. The Phase 30 carbon wheels from Newmen are incredibly light, yet so sturdy that you can always count on them. From super-light XC courses to tough Enduro trails, these high-end models take on any challenge with ease and propel you swiftly down the track.

All models feature an extremely durable rim with a sophisticated carbon layup and a modern 30 mm inner width. Thanks to its flat profile, the hookless rim not only provides plenty of grip but also offers comfort when paired with state-of-the-art tires. Of course, a high-end wheel set also requires high-end spokes. Depending on the model, either classic spokes, whose gauge varies according to the intended use, or Newmen’s special VONOA carbon spokes are used. The latter not only reduce the total spoke weight by up to 40 % but are also 30 % stiffer than conventional steel spokes, meaning fewer spokes are needed without compromising stability.

Depending on the spokes, there are also differences in the hub used. The Phase 30 wheels in the VONOA version feature the Fade CS hub which is designed and optimized for carbon spokes, while the traditionally laced models rely on the equally lightweight yet reliable Fade MTB hub, which is characterized by a housing reinforced at critical points. What they have in common is the same proven technology on the inside. This includes not only high-quality bearings but also three pawls, a newly developed tooth profile as well as an enlarged freewheel diameter at the rear hub. The result: optimal, smooth and quiet power transmission.

Light, Base, Strong or DH?

To offer the perfect wheel for every riding style, Newmen has developed four rim variants: Light, Base, Strong and DH. While the rim profile remains the same, the wall thickness varies. This allows for weight savings on the front wheel which experiences slightly less stress, while the rear wheel features increased stability. Depending on the intended use, the following combinations are recommended:

• XC = Light front wheel + Light rear wheel
• Trail = Light front wheel + Base rear wheel
• Enduro = Base front wheel + Strong rear wheel
• DH = Strong front wheel + Strong rear wheel (not available in the Phase series)
• DH Race = Strong front wheel + DH rear wheel (not available in the Phase series)

Accordingly, the Phase 30 Light rear wheel is suited best for Cross Country mountain bikes. Its perfect complement is the Phase 30 front wheel in the Light version.

Phase 30 XC | Tested in the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup. The Phase 30 XC wheelset not only impresses with outstanding acceleration but also guarantees reliability in tough racing conditions. This is made possible by the Light version of the Phase 30 carbon rims which are used on both front and rear wheel. Thanks to their refined design, they not only boast impressive durability but also the low weight that gives the model its name. The result is high confidence on descents and minimal rolling resistance on any terrain.
