Bearing technology

DT Swiss hubs are designed to work optimally as soon as they are installed in a bike. To achieve this, the clamping force generated by the wheel mounting system must be taken into account when designing the hub.

Years of experience regarding optimum bearing preload and knowledge of production tolerances allow DT Swiss to design durable, backlash-free hubs without bearing play adjustment. Additional weight can be saved in the hub design, as no threads have to be taken into account in the design, which allows a thinner wall thickness. A further advantage is simple maintenance and quick conversion to the various freewheel and axle systems.
