Aeron ExtraLite Protect CX/Gravel Tube - 27.5/28" | 32-52mm - SV

Description

Aeron ExtraLite Protect CX/Gravel Tube - 27.5/28" | 32-52mm - SV

For sporty forest riders - fast and puncture-proof

Cross or gravel bike riders are sporty off-road riders. But sporty is not the same as sporty. Gravel racers need a fast set-up with high puncture protection. The CX/Gravel-ExtraLite Protect is the right choice here, while bikepackers are more likely to opt for the UltraProtect and therefore the highest puncture protection. Cross racers, who are allowed to change bikes after every lap in competition, choose the SuperLite Race for maximum performance with the same puncture protection as conventional butyl tubes.

Features of the Aeron ExtraLite Protect CX/Gravel tube - 27.5/28" 32-52mm:

  • Protection Level 3: Good balance of puncture protection, low weight and low rolling resistance
  • Very good puncture protection and rolling resistance combined with low weight and high air tightness
  • Suitable for gravel and cyclocross racers as well as bikepackers
  • Up to 63 percent lighter than conventional butyl tubes
  • Approved for tire widths from 32 - 52 millimetres
  • TPU valve stem for better grip of the pump head
  • Multi-layer construction

Thermoplastic polyurethane - the new material for bicycle inner tubes

The well-known products are being replaced by TPU tubes, because TPU has many advantages over the black rubber tube. But what is TPU anyway? Thermoplastics are plastics that deform when heated and solidify when they cool down. This property makes them ideal for the production of bicycle inner tubes, as they can easily adapt to any tire size and width. In addition, TPU inner tubes can be created. For example, they can be produced in multiple layers, equipped with more or less puncture protection and produced in any color - the TPU tube is an all-round artist.

Are TPU tubes for gravel bikes better than butyl tubes?

Quite clearly: Yes! TPU tubes offer equal riding performance, but they roll better, are lighter, have a smaller pack size and are significantly more puncture-resistant than a butyl tube. To put it clearly: TPU tubes only have advantages over butyl tubes. The only thing is that they are more expensive to buy, but this is clearly offset by all the advantages.
